As a competitive sports women myself - a keen mountain biker, road cyclist, runner and triathlete participant, and having a family who are all crazy-mad sports enthusiasts - I am familiar with and understand the concentration, sacrifices, determination, stress, disappointments and jubilation that are all part of participating in any sporting event, at any level.
Sporting is one of the most daunting of the photography disciplines. There are no second chances! It's all about anticipation of the action, reflexes and timing. However, it is also the most rewarding type of photography. I try to capture all those emotions: the action, a face set in determined focus, the passion, the power of the body.
